My name is Victoria Strange and I am a therapist in Houston, Texas (near the Cypress, Texas area). I offer counseling and Neurofeedback services for a variety of issues.
Education, Training, and Modalities
I received my Master’s degree in Community Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Sam Houston State University and my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Gender Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University. I am licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I was trained at the Houston Galveston Institute in Collaborative practices. Collaborative therapy focuses on the value of the conversation as a tool for growth and understanding. As well, I incorporate a range of other modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychoanalytic perspectives, Bowenian and Emotion Focused Therapy perspective, and more. As well, I have trained and have been mentored for 6 years in neurofeedback and biofeedback practices including courses in neuroanatomy and physiology. I am working towards certification in biofeedback and neurofeedback practices. Mentorship and certification in neurofeedback/biofeedback are not required but rather are a preferred practice in this industry.
Previous Work Experience
I previously worked at an out-patient hospital working with clients experiencing persistent mental health issues, including addiction, chronic anxiety and depression, panic attack disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, developmental trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and more. I have also volunteered at Houston Area Community Center working with women who were overcoming addiction and substance abuse. I’ve worked in my own private practice for 4 years in the Cypress, Texas area and 6 years total in a private practice setting. I have extensive training in both psychotherapy and neurofeedback modalities for treating and managing symptoms associated with a broad range of diagnoses and symptoms.

My Vow to You
I seek to understand my client’s points of view and enjoy seeing the shifts they are able to make in their lives through the multitude of techniques and strategies implemented in their sessions. As well, I enjoy learning from my client’s lives and experiences. I believe the counseling relationship is a parallel dynamic, not a hierarchical dynamic. I see my client’s as the expert in their own lives and their own thoughts and feelings. My role in the relationship is to facilitate inspiration, guidance, insight, and give tools and strategies so the client can choose what is best for them in order to make shifts and changes in their lives.
My role is to empower you to make shifts in your life and to give you the tools and strategies to overcome your life’s struggles.
